These latest polls have got to be worrisome for the Obama campaign.
Throw in the continuing revelations about the Benghazi massacre - now it appears there were three requests for military assistance that were denied. CIA operatives, including a former SEAL, disobeyed orders and went from their location to the consulate to rescue American personnel - successfully evacuating some of the trapped Americans. During the entire attack an American drone was on station transmitting live video to the State department.
The CIA personnel again disobeyed orders and remained on station because the Ambassador was still missing - as it turned out hiding in a "safe" room that later burned - the CIA operatives "painted" the attackers with a laser as they were setting up a mortar. They requested air support to eliminate the attackers - and were again refused military support. Later two of the operatives were killed by mortor fire. A gunship that could have removed the threat was less than an hour away from Benghazi did not receive clearance to destroy the attackers.
These facts, if correct plus the administration's refusal to specifically say when the President was first informed of the attacks have the potential to severely damage the President's standing. And frankly, if they are true -- if the President has access to live video and no assistance was sent to Benghazi -- there can be no defense of the President's inaction.
